Cool impression. Yellow pome fruit, herbal spices and flint dominate the nose; on the palate again very spicy and taut, but harmonious with fine-grained, sandy tannin pressure and the typical shell limestone minerality.

Terroir: The steep slope of Würzburger Stein, which faces south, extends in a shell shape above the city. It lies at an altitude of 210 to 250 m above sea level and has a slope gradient of between 30 and 80%. The soil structure is very skeletal and usually has only a very thin topsoil. This promotes very good heat storage capacity. In places the shell limestone is interspersed with loam and clay layers.
